Episode 6

CoastWatcher Lyndell Wilken has encountered many personal, professional, and physical challenges throughout her life as an athlete & explorer. Her current obstacle: accessing her adopted mile.

It's been a year-and-a-half since her last visit to Mile 147, but her determination to return has never wavered. In this episode, Lyndell takes Emily and Sascha on an immersive remembrance of Mile 147 in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area—a remote stretch of beach currently inaccessible by road.

CoastWatch & Listen is a community science & storytelling collaboration produced by Bedrock Theatre in partnership with Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition.

Special episode note: At the time of this episode's release, Sparrow Park Road in Gardiner, OR, is still inaccessible to the majority of vehicles. If you have a way to help Lyndell get back to her mile, please get in touch with us!
