Enjoy our NEW album!
Sun Songs & Moon Tunes is a nostalgic musical romp that follows the flow of a long, dusty midsummer day as it turns to evening.
Drawing inspiration from summer memories of our childhoods and teenage years–entire days outdoors biking between friends’ houses, meeting up at secret spots, songs around the campfire–we found comfort but also felt pangs of longing. We contrasted these moments with our summers today, full as they are of to-do lists, day jobs, suffocating heat, the smoke of forest fires. Each song touches into one of these memories or moments, and each one needed its own genre to match – the result is an album as eclectic and playful as a week full of summer days.
Sun Songs & Moon Tunes (SSMT) is also an original cast album, featuring the six songs created and performed for the SSMT live show, performed at Powell Butte Nature Park in Portland, Oregon during July 2024. Audiences gathered for a sunset hike through the meadow and stopped at six secret spots to hear songs and celestial lore. We’re honored and pleased to be able to share these tunes again, in this new format.
We hope you listen outside on a blanket, under the sun, moon, or stars.
