To submit yourself for consideration, please email your headshot and resume to, and specify your primary instrument. (Bonus points if you include your favorite Oregon hiking trail!)

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION: PERSEPHONE is a new adaptation of the classic myth explaining the genesis for Earth’s seasons. Developed in Bedrock’s unique style incorporating live music, scripted text, and immersive storytelling in outdoor landscapes, PERSEPHONE explores themes of feminine agency, environmentalism, and processing grief. PERSEPHONE is directed by Joellen Sweeney, and will be performed as a staged reading in June, and as a full production along a Multnomah County hiking trail in August of 2019.

Seeking 6 Performers

Persephone: the maiden who becomes Queen of the Underworld. A loving daughter to Demeter, but lacking a sense of purpose in her world Above. Has lived a mostly passive life and must learn to make decisions for herself. A woman coming into her power. (20-30, strong solo vocalist)

Demeter: Goddess of the Harvest and mother to Persephone. Protective and devoted to her daughter. Feels deeply and is prone to extreme joy and extreme depression. A force of nature. (30-60, strong solo vocalist)

Hades: King of the Underworld. Lonely and insecure in his power. Not villainous in his intentions, but flawed in judgment and misguided in action. A god who is ultimately a morally ambiguous human. (30 - 50, strong solo vocalist, musician preferred)

The Fates (Clotho, Lachesis & Atropos): narrators and guides for the audience. Sometimes objective and often opinionated. A dynamic trio of storytellers and musicians with strong harmonizing and voice blending skills. (20-60, instrumentalists strongly preferred.)
