Episode 3
The Oregon Coast is a popular tourist destination, drawing millions of visitors every year. Accessible beaches, like those in Lincoln City, are high-traffic, multi-use spaces where human presence takes a toll on the coastal ecosystem. On the flip side, it’s the perfect location for an energetic group of retired teachers on a mission to continue educating people—and continue learning themselves.
In this episode, Emily, Sascha, and Joellen of Team Bedrock join CoastWatchers Bobbie Snead, Sally White, Annette DePuy, and Maureen Foelkl for a field trip on Mile 242. As they tell us: “This mile is where the people are.”
CoastWatch & Listen is a community science & storytelling collaboration produced by Bedrock Theatre in partnership with Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition.
